CALL FOR ABSTRACT: SESSION FOR PhD STUDENTS IN MEMORY OF GIULIO REGENI

The International Congress “WWIII? Management of death among new social emergencies and their solution “, to be held in Padua on 3-5 November 2016 will analyze the impact of the current global geopolitical reconfiguration on approaches, models, methodologies and freedom of knowledge in the academic world.
In the constant research process that the advancement of knowledge requires, new researchers must be able to respond to the global change erasing the political, social and cultural boundaries that have historically driven the research of the past. Where the new challenges jeopardize the balance of world powers, scientific research must stand as an active witness and necessary instrument in support of new strategies of peace.
As young members of a wider academic community, this session is addressed to PhD students and doctoral candidates of Universities all around the world. We will welcome contributions aimed to respond to violence by giving voice to testimonies, solving conflicts and involving different actors in the overall discussion. These research fields are not mandatory, current doctoral researches in other scientific areas will also be evaluated as free contributions.
Particular attention will be paid to researches, survey, theoretical considerations and critical interpretations, from an interdisciplinary perspective.
This session will be held in honor of Giulio Regeni, PhD student at the University of Cambridge, who died in January 2016 in Cairo, where he was studying the Egyptian labor movements.
