Chair organization

The Conference Organising Committee will strive to represent a balance of seniority, gender,discipline, and institutional backgrounds to ensure equitable distribution of labour.
The conference committee will be responsible for administering the event, including the key responsibilities of:

Programme Chair: responsible for assembling the conference programme. This includes drafting and circulating calls for papers, administering the review process for submitted conference abstracts, notifying authors, putting together a cohesive conference programme and allocating relevant peers to chair conference sessions.

Workshop Chair: responsible for coordinating a one-day workshop that precedes the three-day conference for students and early-career researchers.

Technical Chair: responsible for developing and supporting the conference website, the conference review software, and assembling the proceedings document in coordination with the programme chairs. The technical chair will also administer and oversee the conference registration process and social media presence, and be responsible for liaising with technical staff in the event of technical issues during the conference.

Social and Inclusivity Chair: responsible for the organisation of social events during the conference and ensuring that the conference is accessible to all delegates. Their primary responsibilities will include the conference drinks and dinner, organising student volunteers, and creating and communicating codes of conduct policies.

Cultural Programme Chair: responsible for organising the cultural programme during the conference, including liaising with artists, exhibition curator, and the programme chair. They will also be responsible for organising the demonstration and film night.

‘Beyond Academia’ Chair: responsible for liaising with members of the Italian funeral industry, medical professionals, artists, community organisations, and other interested parties. They will solicit attendees and plenaries, promote the conference, and identify potential sponsors.
